West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services is looking to recruit two CCTV Officers to be based at Calder Park, Wakefield.
In these roles, you will undertake technical processes in the retrieval, evaluation, and enhancement of CCTV and other evidential material. You will provide specialist support, advice and technical assistance, which meets the investigative requirements of all four Forces within the Yorkshire and Humber region.
You will attend in and around crime scenes, to recover CCTV data to ensure that retrieval is carried out in an evidentially safe manner that satisfies all local, National and Home Office guidelines.
Eligible candidates will come with a relevant degree or previous experience working in an associated field. You will have a proven understanding of computer hardware to component level and a working knowledge of relevant common operating systems such as MS Windows.
As a CCTV Officer you will be required to work at height and in confined spaces, participate in a standby rota and contribute to the designated section shift rota, including periods unsupervised. Due to the nature of the role, you must provide Biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police Elimination Databases for routine speculative searching purposes.
In addition, you must be prepared to travel for business purposes, hold a full current UK/European driving licence and successfully complete a manual lifting and handling course. Furthermore, you must be able to deal with images and attend scenes of a disturbing nature.
