Succession planning SERIOUS AND ORGANISED CRIME  - DEDICATED SURVEILLANCE TEAM  - CONSTABLE

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team who work across the Force and Region investigating serious and organised crime of all types and safeguarding the vulnerable. 

The covert nature of the work in this unit means that it is unlike any other area of Policing.

There are numerous development opportunities within the unit through various national covert accreditations. It is ideal for those looking for a career in covert policing and also those who want to enhance their skill set as many of the skills you will learn are transferable to other areas of Policing.

Flexibility is required but the unit predominantly works Monday to Friday.

For interested Officer’s there will be an open question and answer Teams Meeting on the 21st March at 11am. This will provide an opportunity for greater understanding of how the department operates and ask any questions to assist in deciding if this is a move for you. Key Responsibilities:

To undertake surveillance activities on a daily basis, using the appropriate surveillance knowledge, techniques and equipment, in support of Police operations, as determined by the DST Sergeant(s) and in accordance with best practice.

Skills and experience:

  • Successfully completed probationary period.
  • If successful, further checks will be conducted such as attendance, vetting and PSB.
  • The ability to be able to successfully pass an advanced police driving course.
  • The ability to be able to pass a National Level 1 Surveillance Course.
  • This role is open to Detectives and Police Constables.

Tuesday 9 April 2024 at 23:55:00 BST

 

It is not likely that closing dates will be extended, other than in exceptional circumstances and would need to be with the permission of the HR Manager, Recruitment and the Line Manager for the role.
