Hours:  40 hours per week

Open to qualified DC’s but also open to PC’s If you want to go on the pathway to become a qualified DC.

We are recruiting for DC’s & PCs to work within our busy PVP department.

Working within PVP, it is paramount to ensure that harm is prevented, and the welfare of vulnerable people is protected, therefore we are looking for someone who is able to communicate with people at all levels, often in distressing and vulnerable situations.

The main aim of the team is to ensure victims are safeguarded and the public are protected, therefore it is essential that the investigations which you conduct are investigated to a high standard.

The role heavily involves building good relationships with partner agencies which are involved in the safeguarding of vulnerable people; therefore, the ideal candidate will have experience of building positive and co-operative relationships with internal and external departments.

You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge and understanding of the legislation and guidance around the investigation of child abuse, serious sexual offences and adult safeguarding.

What is required?

  • You must have completed a successfully probation period in order to apply.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation relation to the investigation of serious sexual offences, child abuse, child death and safeguarding adults.
  • Able to speak clearly so that those listening can understand.
  • Able to communication with children and young people of all ages.
  • Confidently makes decisions based upon available evidence and effective management risk; utilising THRIVE and the NDM.
