West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) is looking to recruit a job share Assistant Forensic Assessment Officer to be based at Calder Park, Wakefield.
The main purpose of this role is to provide advice regarding the appropriateness or suitability of factual forensic examinations, prioritising forensic requirements in line with investigative need. You will also authorise appropriate forensic analysis, so as to ensure effective utilisation of the four Force forensic budgets.
We are looking for a candidate with a sound knowledge of forensic techniques in a variety of disciplines, along with the ability to prioritise their work load to deliver service provision to meet customer requirements.
You will need good literacy skills, a good working knowledge of computerised databases and excellent communication / negotiation skills.
This is a 18.5 hour job share post. However, we would expect the successful candidate to have a flexible approach to working hours.
