Salary £19,521 - £21,618 (plus enhancements)

West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) is looking to recruit 3 Control Operators based at Calder Park, Wakefield.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to join the Crime Scene Investigation team, where your main focus is to ensure the efficient and safe deployment of CSI and other RSSS resources by receiving, recording, triaging and communicating information regarding requests for RSSS support.

We are looking for applicants with excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to deal with challenging customers using empathy and understanding.

You will come with a working knowledge of computerised systems and databases, together with a basic knowledge of the geography and locations covered by Regional Scientific Support Services. You will also be required to complete Forensic Awareness training.

As one of our Control Operators you must be prepared to work shifts in accordance with Departmental working patterns and work from various locations across West Yorkshire as reasonably required.

In addition, you will need to provide Biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police Elimination Databases for routine speculative searching purposes and pass eyesight and hearing tests.
