West Yorkshire Police, as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Scientific Support Services, is looking to recruit an Area Forensic Manager based at Trafalgar House, Bradford.

In this new role, you will manage, develop, advise & coordinate on all matters relating to the provision of Scientific Support services & Crime Scene Investigation resources in response to operational, major crime & critical incidents within all four forces of the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Eligible candidates will come with a history of advising on, directing and managing complex crime scene examination processes. You will also need proven management experience with relevant experience in leading a team, managing projects, performance and budgets.

We are looking for a qualified Crime Scene Investigator with a proven ability in scene examination, preparation of evidence and court attendance, combined with an advanced knowledge of the practical application of forensic science.

You should have already completed the College of Policing Crime Scene Managers and Coordinators courses or have extensive experience of the forensic aspects of major crime investigations. The role also requires experience of negotiating and communicating at a senior level.

In addition, you must hold a full current UK/European driving licence and have access to your own vehicle for business purposes. You will be required to work unsociable hours, participate in a call-out rota and travel extensively within the region on a regular basis 24 hours a days, 365 days a year.

Due to the nature of the role, must provide Biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police Elimination Databases for routine speculative searching purposes.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
