Working under the direction of the Technical Team Lead (Telephony) to install, maintain, upgrade and manage the SYP and HP force telephone systems, including VoIP and legacy platforms.

Fault-finding through the system to instrument level, platform management and maintenance, project rollout and design work plus responsibility for any junior staff and the management of their workloads.

Liaise with clients, external third party’s, service providers and suppliers plus others to provide a public service call handling and management system.  This includes emergency call services and internal call handling to staff and officers.

Specialist technical knowledge in Avaya, Unify and other systems is required for this post along with the ability to manage own workload and participate in projects.  Deputising for line manager occasionally required.

This post attracts a salary of £28,428 to £32,778, 32 days annual leave in addition to UK statutory Bank Holidays and flexi-time.  Some out of hours work required for which overtime and/or lieu is available.  On-call working available and ad-hoc, but not a requirement.

Ability to travel within the force areas is essential.

Must be willing and able to pass force vetting to SC level.
