ROLE - EMPLOYMENT LAWYER

LOCATION – FLEXIBLE – THE POST CAN BE BASED AT EITHER POLICE HEADQUARTERS, CARBROOK , SHEFFIELD OR POLICE HEADQUARTERS, PRIORY ROAD, HULL.

TERM - PERMANENT

HOURS - 37

PAY – £37,563 - £43,473.  COMMENCEMENT SALARY DEPENDANT ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

SCALE - (MP6 + 3SPC)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in house within the Humberside and South Yorkshire Police Legal team.  We are looking for a suitably qualified solicitor who has particular experience of Employment Law.

You will work as part of a team providing a comprehensive range of legal advice and representation to the Chief Constable but in the main you will deal with contentious and non-contentious matters across the full spectrum of employment law.  You will also have the opportunity to become involved in other areas within the legal department.

To be successful in this role, you must have in-depth employment law experience and it is essential that you have experience of dealing with Employment Tribunal Claims.

Strong advocacy skills and past experience in dealing with civil claims and judicial reviews would be an advantage to applicants.  The role will require flexibility to provide assistance in these areas of law.

Due to the collaboration of the legal departments between South Yorkshire Police and Humberside Police, you will be required to work in Humberside and South Yorkshire Police areas as and when the need arises. Flexibility to travel between the sites as required is essential.
