The Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit based in Wakefield is looking to recruit three Financial Investigators to carry out a range of asset recovery functions, with the objective of obtaining money laundering charges, restraint orders and confiscation orders, in accordance with Regional targets and objectives. This exciting opportunity places you at the heart of the Region’s effort to ensure criminals do not retain the fruits of their offending.

The ideal candidates we are looking for will have previous experience in conducting investigations in a financial environment and can demonstrate their ability to compile financial reports. We are also looking for applicants with sound numeracy and literacy skills and who already possess a working knowledge of computerised databases and spreadsheets.

Due to the nature of these roles you must be willing to work flexibly to suit business needs; this includes working unsociable hours on occasions and at short notice. You must also be prepared to be located anywhere within the Force, and on occasions, work outside of the Force area as required.

In addition you will be required to successfully complete the relevant training courses in financial investigation and become accredited by the National Crime Agency. You must also maintain National Crime Agency accreditation through the Continual Professional Development scheme.

As this is a progression scheme candidates who meet the essential criteria of the Scale 6 and SO1 Role Profile may be eligible to start further along the progression scheme.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
