Applications are invited from Qualified Detective Sergeants who have completed their probationary period at the closing date of this advert.

This is a great opportunity to join this unique team undertaking covert operations online. We need creative, lawfully audacious thinkers, to co-ordinate the effective & efficient investigation of criminality online. You will oversee the delivery and development of national tactics with a specific focus of tackling on line child sex offending in line with Authorised Professional Practice.

This role would suit an officer who can manage serious and complex criminal investigations as well as investigate criminal matters and ensure a successful progression to prosecution & conviction. 

We are looking for candidates with knowledge of undercover operations and undercover authorised professional practice, along with an ability to initiate and implement pro-active policing initiatives.

You will be PIP level 2 accredited having successfully completed the ICIDP CID course or equivalent and you will have already passed or be able to pass the Management of Serious Crime Course.

In addition, as part of the Undercover Foundation Unit you will be expected to hold a full current UK driving licence, work flexibly with changes of duty at short notice and work throughout the region and nationally when required.

The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police officers and a secondment to the Regional Forces. As this is a secondment you will require permission from your current Force in order to be eligible to apply.
