(Police Staff) Fixed Term – Investigative Support Officer - YatH Regional Organised Crime Unit – Ref RC139

West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Crime Unit are looking to recruit an Investigative Support Officer, on a 12 month fixed term contract, to join a team tackling online child sex offenders as part of the Regional Organised Crime Unit based in Sheffield and Rotherham.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established Regional alliance that is a key component in the response to serious and organised criminality.

As part of an investigation team you will perform a complex case building function in relation to the investigation of Organised Child Sexual Exploitation Crimes to result in the successful prosecution of offenders.

We are looking for candidates experienced in investigating serious crime and building complex case files. You will also be required to successfully complete other relevant training courses required for the role.

You will need a good working knowledge of the principles of disclosure (Criminal Procedures Investigations Act 1996), as well as computerised applications and spreadsheet packages, with the ability to extract information from databases.

You must be able to work flexibly to suit business needs. As this is a regional role you must be prepared to work outside the Force area as and when required.

The successful candidates will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.

This post is suitable for job share. The application process will close at 23:55 hours on the 23rd January 2019.
