Staff Officer to the Counter Terrorism Change Portfolio Director

Detective Sergeant/ Police Sergeant

Job Purpose

The Change Portfolio Director has responsibility for the development and delivery of the CT policing operating model and leadership of the NCTP HQ design authority. The Director also manages the CT policing change portfolio ensuring that national CT programmes and projects are managed consistently and also leadership of the implementation of the Demand, Risk and Resources (DRR) recommendations.  The CT Director also co-manages the Joint Collaboration and Co-ordination Office with the NCA Change Director.

 

The post holder works as Staff Officer to the Change Portfolio Director, in conjunction with the PA, to ensure the efficient and effective discharge of the Change Portfolio Director’s  business, ensuring deadlines are met and carry out tasks as directed by the director.

 

Vetting and STRAP

 

This post will require you to hold National Security Vetting (NSV) at Developed Vetting (DV) or willing to undergo and maintain this level.

 

The post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) before taking up the post. Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.

Confidentiality Agreement

Applicants should also be aware of the need to sign a confidentiality agreement on taking up the post.

Accommodation may be provided subject to prior consultation, and also excess travel may be met subject to prior consultation.

 

All posts are on secondment for a period of two years and based in London although some travel UK travel will be required.
