We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Support Assistant to join the Body Worn Video project based at Melton, Hull.  This role sits within HR Services, which is collaboration between South Yorkshire Police & Humberside Police and delivers a range of HR services for both forces.

Role Purpose:

The main purpose of the role is to work as part of a team to triage Body Worn Video devices (including tracking the despatch and return of failed devices) update the asset records and support the wider asset management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake general IS business administrative duties.
  • Provide secretarial assistance such as arranging and participating in meetings, preparing minutes, updating and publishing documents.
  • Liaise with internal/external IS suppliers.  Respond to requests for purchasing, assets information. Analyse billing from suppliers. Arrange meetings with suppliers and internal customers. Record new stock items, receive items from delivery drivers and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Undertake document processing functions such as data entry, records checking and updating (Sostenuto).
  • Identify and correct data quality issues by liaison with business area leads to resolve discrepancies.
  • Create inventory spreadsheets and amend inventories for bulk data cleansing.
  • Assist colleagues within and across IS teams and colleagues from external agencies and partners/suppliers.
  • Support the wider asset management activities of the Desktop team.

 

Skills and experience:

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and behaviours:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with commercially sensitive issues.
  • Previous administrative and data input experience.
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office, Outlook or similar and the internet.
  • Ability to deal with internal customers effectively, providing responsive and appropriate levels of service.
  • RSAII typing or equivalent keyboard skills.
  • Previous experience of minute taking.
  • ITIL Foundation Qualification.
  • Previous experience of asset (stock) control
  • Knowledge of HP force structures.

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police & Humberside Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
