HP – ACTING/TEMPORARY/DETECTIVE INSPECTOR – CYBER CRIME                         

DEPARTMENT: SPECIALIST COMMAND – CYBER CRIME UNIT      

LOCATION: BRIDGE VIEW, HULL               

RANK: ACTING/TEMPORARY/DETECTIVE INSPECTOR

HOURS: 40 HOURS PER WEEK

An opportunity has arisen for dedicated Detective Inspector to join the Cyber Crime Team, supervise a team of Officers, conducting proactive, and reactive investigations into offences falling within the remit of the unit

Please note:  This post is open as a temporary promotion opportunity for Detective Sergeants to Temporary/Detective Inspector or Acting/Detective Inspector.

You will manage Police Officers, and Staff, within the Economic Crime Unit (ECU), Asset Recovery, Covert Authorities Bureau (CAB), Internet Sex Offenders Team (ISOT), Cybercrime and Digital Forensic Unit (DFU), providing leadership and direction with regard to their activity and to undertake the overall responsibility for all investigations; with the aim of ensuring the most efficient and effective use of resources.

The Role

You will supervise and manage investigations in accordance with the SAB and LSCB guidelines and procedures, receiving child protection referrals and making decisions in line with the Joint Investigation Process for the investigations within ISOT.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have knowledge of major investigations and have completed ICIDP, or equivalent investigative training
  • Has thorough knowledge and understanding of current policy for dealing with incidents of sexual offences, digital forensics, covert authorities, economic crime and cybercrime related offences/investigations
