West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Crime Unit are looking to recruit an Intelligence Development Officer to join the Regional Covert Unit based in Wakefield.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established Regional alliance that is a key component in the response to serious and organised criminality.

You will be responsible for researching, developing, and tasking out operational intelligence to the Yorkshire & the Humber regional forces and other law enforcement partners, ensuring that it is actioned in a timely manner.

Proven experience within an intelligence or investigative environment should be demonstrated along with a good working knowledge of computerised databases. You will be required to have previous experience in acquiring, analysing and developing intelligence. Furthermore, you will need a basic knowledge of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA), as well as an understanding of Force, Regional and National tasking processes.

Eligible candidates, you must be willing to undertake and successfully pass level 3 static observation and level 2 foot surveillance courses. 

In addition, you must be prepared to work from within any of the four force areas of the Yorkshire & Humber, work flexibly which may include shifts or additional hours to suit business needs and hold a current UK/European driving licence.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
