Salary: £16, 479 - £17, 721

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent


HP, SYP and WYP are collaborating on the storage and distribution of uniform and equipment.  As South Yorkshire is the Lead force for Regional Procurement including Regional Stores this will be a South Yorkshire role, based in Wakefield.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Goods receipt and placing items in stock
  • Picking and packing of orders within agreed service levels
  • Recycling of returns
  • Measuring and fitting of uniform (training will be provided)
  • Working at other Stores out-bases in South Yorkshire and Humberside as required (with transport provided) and conducting deliveries to other Stores locations
  • Arranging fitting appointments, maintaining a diary system and other admin duties related to the Stores service
  • Conducting periodic stock checks
  • Providing an efficient customer service and ensuring timely communication with Police Officers and Staff using the service

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in a customer-facing environment
  • Hold a full driving licence
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages

Further information:

Applicants must meet the minimum checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for all individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history period of 3 Years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police. 

Closing dates are not normally extended, other than in exceptional circumstances and an agreement is made with the HR Manager - Recruitment and the Line Manager for the role.
