Applications are invited from Constables who have completed their probationary period by the closing date of this advert.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terror Policing.
As a member of the SPT, you will develop and research potential undercover, tasked witness and covert internet investigator operations, based on the priorities of the CTP NE, to ensure that all covert operations are carried out in compliance with legal and national guidelines.
You will have experience in investigating serious crime, along with a detailed knowledge of the relevant legislation including RIPA, ECHR, Terrorist Legislation, policies and stated cases concerning covert and undercover law enforcement operations.
It would be useful if you have successfully completed/ or have the ability to pass the Cover and Welfare Officers course accredited by the College of Policing. As well as a Working knowledge of Policy and Law relating to undercover operations.
You should be willing to work flexible working hours and call-outs as required, and be willing and able to travel for business purposes throughout the UK and occasionally internationally.
This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police officers and a transfer or a secondment to the Regional Forces. Under a secondment you will require permission from your current Force in order to be eligible to apply.
