Join the new internal investigation team for DA and VAWG related offences

 

Humberside Police are launching a new internal investigation team, to deal with domestic abuse and VAWG related offences within our organisation. 

We’ve listened carefully to focus groups and survivors of domestic abuse, and want to provide victims with a voice and the confidence to be listened to, in a place where they can feel trusted and supported, all managed in a sensitive and confidential environment.

This new internal investigation team will sit under the command of our Professional Standards Department, and work alongside the Misconduct Investigation Team and the Anti-Corruption Unit. The team will also work with local and regional partners to safeguard and support victims of domestic abuse, to investigate allegations, and to bring perpetrators to justice, using both the criminal legislation and where appropriate the Police (Conduct) Regulations.

 

What kind of people are we looking for?

 

We need officers who have a genuine interest in this area of work, who are committed to creating and maintaining a culture in Humberside Police where our people and public feel supported and valued.

 

The team will be committed to continuous improvement informed by feedback from our people, partners, and national recommendations from the HMIC Vetting and Misogyny Review and the Angiolini Report. Therefore, we are looking for officers who are innovative in their approach and want to bring about positive change.

 

We are looking to build and team of 1 DS and 4 DCs/PCs who have a real passion and commitment for investigations of this nature, who are determined to deliver fair, proportionate, and timely outcomes.
