Are you interested in developing your leadership and management skills within a policing environment?  This apprenticeship opportunity combines learning and work, underpinned by a recognised leadership and management accreditation, to develop you into an effective people manager. We will provide you with the skills and support you need to succeed and develop your career.

The Criminal Justice Unit is led by a Superintendent, supported by a Chief Inspector, with responsibility for the whole CJU function and is a mission critical activity for the Force.

The file team function consists of civilian receivers, caseworkers and dedicated disclosure officers with support from a witness care team, two Investigating officers and typing support.

This is managed by two business managers, one that line manages the caseworkers and witness care, the other receivers, disclosure and typing, however the day to day management across the function is shared between both managers.

There are team leaders in each area that are responsible for the first line management of the staff.

The staff are based at two main sites, Hull and Grimsby, although typing support also have staff working from Scunthorpe, Goole and Bridlington.

The unit works as a virtual CJU, so any of the staff can work on any Force-wide case.

Hull is known as North Bank (NB) and Grimsby is known as South Bank (SB)

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, with a keenness to learn and develop excellent leadership and people management skills, an effective communicator and have an ability to proactively problem solve.

Educated to GCSE C or above (or equivalent) is desirable and experience in a busy office environment is useful, but not necessary.
