An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Detective Sergeant to join the Economic Crime Unit, to be an integral part of Humberside Police’s drive to tackle Serious and Organised Crime in all its forms.

The successful role holder will have the responsibility, supported by the Detective Inspector, for the effective operation of the Economic Crime Section, building on already excellent foundations, having the opportunity to develop the role and the work of their staff to meet the increasing demands of financial investigations.

There is the opportunity for the successful applicant to develop not only knowledge but also qualifications in the field of financial investigation.

The Role

You will supervise serious and complex fraud and money-laundering investigations.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be of the rank of Sergeant, or is in the promotion pool, and is eligible to be promoted
  • Have successfully completed the ICIDP course, or equivalent, of has completed the IMSC course, or equivalent.
  • Have an awareness of current, national and local, policy and practice, concerning intelligence gathering.
  • Possess an understanding of a broad range of legal and procedural knowledge.
  • Is numerate and possesses relevant experience in the area of commerce, commercial law or accountancy.
