The DACT will play an important role in supporting victims of Domestic Abuse ensuring early contact is made and that they are signposted to the right services at the right time. We are looking for candidates who can help reshape the way Humberside Police responds to Domestic Abuse. In doing so you will be provided with high quality training and support from colleagues already conducting the role. Domestic Abuse is a high priority for the force and successful candidates will play an integral part in safeguarding victims and children affected by such behaviour.

 

The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of administrative and support tasks, ensuring an efficient and effective service to victims of Domestic Abuse.  Additionally, the post holder will liaise with Officers, victims and partner agencies to maximise the safety of victims and family member.

 

The Role

 

As part of this role, you will contact victims of Domestic Abuse, carrying out initial safeguarding, recording all advice given and where crimes are identified these should be recorded as such in an expeditious manner in line with crime recording guidelines.  Additionally, the post holder will actively support criminal investigations by offering support and guidance to investigation officers.

 

The successful applicant will have experience of the following areas:

 

  • Applicants will be the Rank of Constable and will have successfully completed a 2-year probationary period.
  • An understanding of legislation, Force practice directions, policies and ACPO guidelines and procedures in relation to child abuse, domestic violence, risk management, juvenile liaison and missing persons.
  • Maintaining computerised databases and managing confidential and sensitive information.
  • Well-developed oral and written skills in order to deal with people at all levels.
