West Yorkshire Police, as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Scientific Support Services, is looking to recruit a CSI Training Manager.

This opportunity will be offered on a job share basis, working 18.5 hours per week in the CSI Training department based at Ossett Police Station, Wakefield; working days and hours to be confirmed on appointment.

In this role you will be required to lead a comprehensive, professional and customer focussed CSI training team.

Your responsibilities will include managing the design, delivery and evaluation of learning and development within RSSS in accordance with organisational needs, national legislation, College of Policing and Home Office guidance, and providing training for other departments within West Yorkshire Police, other Police Forces and Partnership agencies.

To commence in this post, you will need to be able to evidence a working knowledge of training design and evaluation, and have experience of delivering effective training packages to a variety of delegates.  You will also need to have knowledge and a practical understanding of ISO and national occupational standards relevant to CSI.

In addition to these requirements, you may also be required on occasion to attend and examine crime scenes; applicants must therefore be able to demonstrate their experience and technical competence of being an operational Crime Scene Investigator across the full spectrum of crime types.

Due the nature of this role, you must provide Biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police Elimination Databases, for routine speculative searching purpose. You will also be required to complete a recognised manual handling course.

Furthermore, you will need to hold a full current UK/European driving licence, and have a flexible approach to working cross-border; as you will be required to travel to a number of regional CSI hubs and training locations as part of your daily work to ensure a full regional crime scene investigation training service is delivered.
