Our IT department are recruiting additional resources to support the ongoing refresh of IT Equipment used by staff and officers within South Yorkshire and Humberside Police, this role will support the replacement of desktops and mobile devices.

Role Purpose:

The main purpose of the role is to support the IT Desktop Team in building new desktop, laptop, and mobile devices, as well as providing support in the repair of these devices, and making devices fit for disposal if they cannot be fixed.

What the role will be responsible for:

  • Contacting stakeholders for the scheduling of handover of prepared devices.
  • Updating the Configuration Management Database with devices owner records
  • Recovering refreshed devices and retiring the equipment for disposal
  • Deployment and fault rectification of Body Worn Video Cameras
  • Liaison with IT Technical Teams to resolve IT Issues

Skills and experience:

  • Have recent experience of building, deploying and fault rectification processes of IT Equipment
  • Good interpersonal skills to deal with a range of stakeholders.
  • Can use a range of standard office products such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • The ability to drive.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
