Protected Persons Case Officer
Regional Organised Crime Unit

This opportunity is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Regional Organised Crime Unit is looking to recruit a Protected Persons Case Officer. The purpose of this role is to ensure the long term protection, safety and welfare of Protected Persons in accordance with policies and procedures.

The role will involve interviewing and assessing the needs of protected persons and their family members and providing practical advice and support as appropriate, conducting planned and dynamic Risk Assessments in relation to covert deployment and engagement with Protected Persons, holding meetings with partner agencies to ensure effective and efficient action.

The ideal candidate will have investigative experience and demonstrate an ability to work in line with legislation, policy and procedures whilst maintaining confidentiality and leading by example.

Have previous experience of undertaking dynamic risk assessments/knowledge and a basic ability to operate computerised databases and spreadsheets. You will be an effective communicator both orally and written with the ability to write reports and present to senior management.

You will need to have previous experience of liaising with other agencies and professionals bodies at the appropriate level, be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with vulnerable people and demonstrate resilience within the workplace.

It is essential for this role that you have the ability to complete to and pass the National Protected Persons Course and Counter & Anti-Surveillance course.

As Protected Persons Case Officer:

You must possess a full current UK/European driving licence or the ability to travel around the Region.

Have the ability to pass and maintain enhanced security clearance.

Be able to work at any location within the region and travel nationally.

Be prepared to work flexible hours and/or extend hours to suit the requirement of the department.

Have a willingness to stay away from home throughout the country including regular overnight stays as/when the requirements of the role necessitate.

Be able to undertake a 24 hour on call/call out duties.

Attend empty hand skills course.
