Requirements

  • A substantive Chief Inspector, who has successfully completed the probationary period at that rank, and has been promoted for 12 months or more at the closing date.  Applications are also welcomed from current Superintendents who wish to transfer to Humberside Police
  • Has a Satisfactory PDR Rating over last 2 years (please attach most recent to application form).
  • Not subject to any current live written warning or final written warning issued under the Police (Conduct) Regulations.
  • Not subject to any live Written Improvement Notices for performance or attendance issued under Police (Performance) Regulations.
  • An acceptable level of attendance.

Selection Process

Providing you meet the above criteria, your application will be considered and the process includes:

Endorsement from your Line Manager/recommendation from Superintendent & BCU Commander/Head of Department that you are ready for promotion to the next rank. 

Shortlisting Process

Force interview & assessment board (consisting of a Chief Constable, Deputy Chief Constable and Head of HR).

Any offer of appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, vetting and continued good conduct and maintenance of fitness. External candidates will in addition be subject to a medical examination, drugs testing and biometric vetting.

Successful candidates must be prepared to undergo vetting to MV/SC level.
