West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Crime Unit are looking to recruit a Modern Slavery Tactical Officer on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2020.

We need you to strengthen the law enforcement response to the threat of modern slavery by providing tactical support and advice to Police Forces. You will deliver the National Policing MS action plan within ROCU and their respective Forces and work with partners to coordinate and improve the collective local response to national policy. You will also be responsible for coordinating the Police response to National Intelligence Requirements.

This opportunity would suit a candidate with experience of Investigating and managing crime in a multi-agency setting, as well as Serious Crime and the management of serious Safeguarding issues.

You will also come with a history of working in a high pressure environment producing results within time critical deadlines and effective management of risk, threat and harm. You will already have experience of Modern Slavery or working within a public protection related environment. To be considered for this role, you will need excellent communication abilities including report writing and presentation skills, along with good computer skills and a working knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Furthermore, you will come with experience of working with partner agencies and utilising shared intelligence and data sets. You must be able to supervise and manage individuals in line with the Code of Ethics and Force Purpose and values and impart knowledge around Modern Slavery issues influencing behavioural changes and attitudes in this area of work.

In addition, you must be prepared to work flexible hours to meet operational needs and travel nationally when required and regionally on a regular basis for liaison and meetings. The successful candidate will be subject to advanced personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
