Humberside Police are looking to recruit Police Community Support Officers for immediate full time vacancies force wide. 

We are looking for confident individuals, with excellent communication skills to join our Safer Neighbourhood Policing Teams as Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs). You will be the eyes and ears of the police within the community, performing a vital role in helping to address and deal with quality-of-life issues like anti-social behaviour as well as gathering community and crime intelligence in accordance with legislation. In this way, we aim to tackle crime and the fear of crime better and bring the police closer to local communities. 

PCSOs have their own distinctive uniform and carry personal police radios, Windows mobile and other police issued equipment. You also use police information technology and intelligence procedures. 

PCSOs work closely with a wide range of partners to help find long-term solutions to local problems. 

You must have previous proven experience of dealing with the public. You will need to have a sympathetic and tolerant approach and an ability to relate to a diverse range of people. Successful candidates must be a confident decision-maker and be capable of responding to unexpected events. There will be a requirement for you to undertake independent patrol, work outdoors and work a shift pattern including weekends. 

Please note that applicants for this role must meet the minimum residency criteria, which sets out the timescales that an applicant has been resident in the UK for, immediately prior to appointment. A minimum residency period of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with Humberside Police. 

Applicants successful in being short listed, will subsequently be invited to attend an interview and assessment week commencing 22nd May 2017


Those successful in the assessment centre process will then be subject to pre-employment checks.

• Reference Checks
• Meeting the Force Attendance Criteria
