This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a regional alliance that is a key component in the response to serious and organised criminality in the Yorkshire and Humber Region.

The main purpose of your role is to ensure the efficient and effective management of the Regional CSEA on Line Unit and all associated covert investigations. Ensuring the safety and security of all staff and to protect the security, integrity, methodology of investigations and the judicial process.

To be considered for this role you must be a Substantive DI with a credible background in serious crime investigations utilising covert tactics, or Substantive Inspector with a similar recent investigative background.  You must have successfully completed or have the ability to pass / complete relevant courses linked to the management of undercover operations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a detailed knowledge and clear understanding of covert tactics & undercover legislation and Procedures, have an ability to work proactively using one’s own initiative, and demonstrate experience in the completion of sensitive investigative policy files, assessment of threat, risk and application of appropriate control measures.

In addition you must be able to demonstrate experience of working effectively, managing operations within a covert law enforcement environment for example within a Surveillance, Undercover or CHIS management environment.

You will have a full current UK/ European driving licence, be willing and have the ability to travel/work across the NE Region and outside the region if required, and work flexible hours to suit the requirements of the Department. 

The successful candidate will be subject to MV, SC and Strapp Vetting.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police officers and a secondment to the Regional Forces. As this is a secondment you will require permission from your current Force in order to be eligible to apply.
