Role: Public Order Training Technician

Salary: Band B- £18,486-£20,115

Hours: 37 hours per week

Role Purpose:

To prepare and maintain the Public Order Training environment including the checking and preparation of equipment and resources, ordering and maintaining stock levels and day to day associated administrative tasks to enable an efficient and effective training delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will carry out routine maintenance and repair of the training arena and aids, both inside and outside. This will include, general wear and tear repairs of any items within the tac house, arena, and training site.
  • The post holder will carry out maintenance and improvement work within the Public Order Training Site.
  • The successful applicant will ensure general cleaning of the arena and aids, before and after courses. Ensure the outside training area is free from leaves, glass and maintained to a high standard. Clean any items or articles that are used during training. Prepare arena and aids for training being delivered that day or planned for the coming weeks.

Skills and experience:

  • Educated to G.C.S.E standard or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety processes as they apply to maintenance tasks (electricity, fire, protective clothing, manual handling, coveralls, gloves, masks, boots, gloves and power tools).
  • General maintenance and DIY skills with experience of working in a maintenance field.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
