Role Purpose:

Undertake demand analysis to inform future service design. Assist with the planning, implementation, management and monitoring of the delivery of projects. Undertake research and analysis, producing reports/recommendations as necessary, into issues affecting the project or programme they are working with, within specified timescales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working within the department of Business Change and Innovation, the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking demand analysis to inform future service design. They will assist with the planning, implementation, management and monitoring of the delivery of projects. The individual will undertake research and analysis, producing reports and recommendations of issues affecting the project or programme they are working with.
  • The successful candidate will conduct research in respect of the forces strategic and delivery plans, programmes and projects. They will be expected to use a variety of methodologies, tools and techniques including business process mapping to review organisational demand and help identify service design improvements.
  • The post holder will be required to run focus groups and in addition, will also attend meetings, liaise with internal customers, other force and external bodies such as government departments to facilitate the delivery of the project/programmes.

Skills and experience:

  • Applicants will be required to meet the specialist knowledge outlined in the person specification, including experience of research, process design and analysis.
  • In addition, you will be educated to degree level in an appropriate subject matter area or have equivalent work experience.
  • There will be an expectation that the preferred candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to elicit, collate and assimilate information from customers and stakeholders.
  • You will also have experience of using business improvement tools and techniques.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
