‘An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with a passion for public service to provide key information and support to the Police and Crime Commissioner in support of a safer South Yorkshire’

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is a directly elected official, accountable to the public of South Yorkshire for the delivery of efficient and effective policing and crime services. He has a duty to involve and engage the public and wider stakeholders, so that their views can be considered and fed into the design and delivery of services that support a safer South Yorkshire.

The PCC sets out the policing and crime priorities in his Police and Crime Plan and then determines the budget and level of council tax policing precept required to deliver that Plan. He is also responsible for commissioning victims’ services.

As the PCC’s Caseworker, you will carry out appropriate investigations in order to respond to a wide range of people, including members of the public, local Councillors and MPs, on behalf of the PCC.

You will also work closely with the PCC’s Independent Custody Visitors and support the Governance and Compliance Manager in the smooth administration of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s governance and assurance meeting arrangements.

To be successful you must have excellent customer service skills and be an excellent communicator. You will need to be confident, diligent and professional at all times and have high standards of integrity.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
