Department: HR Shared Services – Occupational Health Unit
Location: Hoyland Police Station, Barnsley
Salary: Band G - £40, 719 - £44, 787
Hours: 37 Hours per Week
Contract: Permanent
Details of role:
A Senior Occupational Health Advisor, delivering first class client support and with line management responsibility for a small team of OHAs within the Occupational Health Unit.
Duties include:
- Strategic development of OHA delivery to meet SYP requirements and in line with best practice
- Line management responsibility for a small team of OHAs providing leadership, coaching, mentoring and clinical supervision/governance
- Development, implementation and maintenance of a robust audit process to ensure advice provided is consistent, complies with confidentiality requirements and codes of professional practice
- Review and support SYP policies and processes
- Clinical delivery of OH services including fitness for work, preplacement, attendance management, health surveillance, vaccinations, contamination incidents etc
- Advice and support for HR/managers regarding services and the management of specific cases
- General tasks as required by line manager
The candidate must be able to demonstrate the following;

- Understanding of OH issues, proven ability to apply resolutions and solution focused
- Excellence in OHA service delivery
- Experience of change management
