Role Purpose:

The post of Performance Review Officer sits within the Performance Management Unit reporting to the Performance Manager. There are a number of Performance Review Officers within the Unit, each with specific roles and responsibilities. This post is responsible for the supervision of a performance analyst. The key responsibility is in the delivery of accurate, insightful and timely performance reporting to support performance improvement across the force.

If you hold a degree with a statistical content or can demonstrate sufficient experience of strategic performance management and are passionate about supporting improvements through effective delivery of information, then this could be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • positively engage with a variety of departments to understand customer needs
  • negotiate timescales and agree clear expectations for delivery
  • understand the role of performance management in driving organisational improvement
  • apply the most effective methods of analysing and displaying data and information
  • understand and question the datasets, to ensure rational interpretation
  • use a keen eye for detail and focus on data quality and appropriate caveats
  • interpret the complex into understandable information
  • display good communication skills both written and oral
  • remain calm under pressure, consistent in approach to daily tasks and committed to customer service

All work will support the focus of the force in delivering an outstanding service to the public of South Yorkshire.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
