South Yorkshire Police is looking for an experienced Exchequer Supervisor to work our Oracle Cloud Project (until approx. March 2024), as part of the Finance Project implementation team.   

We are migrating our current Oracle R12.1 integrated Payroll, HR, Finance & Duties system to Oracle Cloud.  

The preferred candidate must be an experienced Account Payable/Receivable Supervisor who understands the challenges of working in a Procure to Pay implementation/project environment.  Have experience of working with an in-house integrated IT system, have a full understanding of end-to-end Procure to pay business and system processes on an integrated Financials System. They will work with SMEs, to understand the current processes, policies, statutory and legislation, work with the Finance Technical, Finance Departmental SME’s to assist in the implementation of our future AR/AP, Procurement, and Cash Management requirements.

They will work with the Finance Implementation leads and our Oracle implementation partner to ensure all procedures and processes are mapped for both on and off system processes. Work with process owners and the Business Analysts to understand both current and future effort and productivity are documented and understood. Where required, you will contribute to the re-engineer processes to adapt to the new system and ensure improved efficiencies.

Role Purpose

Working as part of the Finance Oracle Project team; Along with the existing Exchequer Supervisor be responsible for implementation of the new Oracle Cloud Force Wide Procurement and accounts payable and accounts receivable systems.

Responsible to the Oracle Project Finance Design and Implementation Lead

Reasonable for (Supervision)

  • Exchequer Clerks – 1x Band B x 37 hours per week
  • And working with the BAU Exchequer Team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Payables

To be responsible for all payment routines.

To undertake other routine Payable’s duties

Receivables

To be responsible for all income collection routines

To co-ordinate income collection points and insurance cover for income collection.

Disbursement Account

To oversee the operation of the HQ disbursement account

To share responsibility for cash held in the HQ safe.  The post-holder will be a safe key holder
