Role Purpose:

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, innovative individual to work in a demanding, complex and rapidly changing Operational Police Training section of Organisation Development & Learning. Based at Robert Dyson House Training Centre, working Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of the Police Education and Qualification Framework programmes for a new recruit Student Officers.  This will involve support for Student Officers whilst in Initial Training Phase.
  • You will be working closely with the SYP CAPE team and Sheffield Hallam University to deliver the curriculum for both Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship and Degree Holders Entry Programme (DHEP).
  • This is an exciting time to be part of the ODL team. You will be able to make a positive difference to the changes needed for the development of our new Officers. You will be pivotal in setting and upholding Our high standards to the Student Officers, helping them to be operationally ready for their working life at District.
  • You will also be involved in the writing and delivery of course materials for PCSO Apprenticeship Programmes, Neighbourhood Police Training, Transferee Courses, Coaching Professional Apprentices & Specials training.

Skills and experience:

The successful applicant will have strong communication skills with the ability to set out logical rationale, adapting your language to meet the needs of different people/audiences.  You will be expected to coach and mentor colleagues, staff and students to enable appropriate career and professional development.

You will be expected to hold /work towards obtaining a Certificate in Education level 4 qualification.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
