Role Purpose:

This post is a fixed term/secondment opportunity based within Performance & Governance BSU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will have experience in an administrative environment and work well as part of a team with the ability to use your initiative and work under pressure.
  • Working within Performance & Governance Business Support, you will be required to multi-task and your duties will include raising requisitions for goods and services using the relevant systems: receipting of goods and services, confirming deliveries and quantities.
  • Support is provided to a number of different departments with competing demands, making this a busy and varied role.
  • You will provide general administrative support using desktop applications to produce letters, reports and standard forms. You should have the ability to create and maintain various spreadsheets and computer records.
  • You will possess good communication, problem solving and organisational skills, with a flexible approach to meet the demands of the role.
  • To be considered, you must have experience of using Microsoft Excel, Word and proven numeracy skills.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.

The Force is currently reviewing the Appearance and Standards Policy, with particular focus to Tattoos.  All visible tattoos will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, pending consultation of the Policy review.  Until such time, please do not be discouraged from applying to the Force as any visible tattoos will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.  Any tattoo which could be deemed inappropriate, or cause offence will not be accepted.  If you have tattoos, you will need to make a declaration at the time of application.
