Role: SCTP Administration Assistant

Department: Violence Reduction Unit

Location: Shepcote Lane, Sheffield

Salary: Band B - £18, 486 - £20, 115

Hours: 37 Hours per Week

Contract Type: Temporary – 12 Months

 

Role Purpose:

To support the violence reduction unit with administrative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and process all notices dealt with by this department using appropriate software packages.
  • Act as first point of contact for the unit, dealing with telephone calls, correspondence and enquiries from members of the public, Police colleagues, and partner agencies.   This role includes welcoming visitors, contractors and suppliers as necessary. Complete scanning and verification of incoming correspondence on the appropriate systems and assist with the validation of data.
  • Build relationships with partner organisations.
  • Undertake the administrative duties including post, filing, copying, typing and maintenance of files and records.
  • Produce, record, process and distribute correspondence and reports as required.
  • Organising and managing all elements of meetings chaired/ran by the VRU. Attend and take minutes/action notes. Type up and distribute notes.
  • Some diary management as required.
  • To undertake additional evidence gathering as required.
  • Any other duties/tasks commensurate with the grading of the post.

Skills and experience:

  • Clerical/Administrative experience
  • Experience of windows based systems, especially word and excel
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information
  • Accuracy in data inputting
  • Experience of organising and managing all elements of meetings, including taking and typing minutes/action notes

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
