Details of role:

This role provides and exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced Sheffield Police Property Store where you will provide a valuable service to Police Officers, Police Staff and members of the Public in all areas relating to the storage, movement and recording of All types of Property ranging from Lost Property to Property involved in Crimes.

The role involves receiving property from all interim property stores within the District and have a shared responsibility for recording, storing, transiting all property to the central store that includes items such as Firearms, Drugs, Cash and general property. Responsible for Disposal of Property such as Firearms, Drugs, Clinical Waste etc.

You will be responsible for maintaining the records system that governs the storage and movement of Property between the various Property stores. You will also be dealing with telephone enquiries from members of the public regarding their property.

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in an administrative role
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public face to face and over the telephone
  • Computer literate with experience of data input and retrieval using Microsoft applications
  • Current clean driving licence

 Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.

All tattoos and piercings must be in line with South Yorkshire Police’s Appearance and Standards policy. Tattoos visible on your face, neck, hands or head are not permitted. Any tattoos which could be deemed inappropriate or cause offence will also not be accepted. If you have tattoos, you will need to make a declaration at the time of application.
