Salary: Band C - £21, 507 - £24, 057 (Pro-Rota)

Hours: 29.6 Hours per Week (Including Days, Afternoon & Weekend Shifts)

Contract: Permanent

 

Role Purpose:

Identify the level of risk associated with a domestic abuse incident to give a quality service to victims of domestic violence by proactively ensuring that their problems and needs are correctly, safely and sympathetically dealt with, over and above that normally provided by operational policing and the criminal justice system.

Role Details:

The successful candidate will be expected to risk assess all Force recorded domestic abuse incidents by interrogating various SYP systems to determine the current indication of risk of further harm to the victim(s) as per the DA and SCPO guidance.

Once risk assessment level is determined, you will ensure that necessary action is taken to safeguard the victim and ensure intervention is offered to victims to prevent repeat victimisation and escalation. The candidate will then liaise with all District Safeguarding Adult Teams across the Force, with Domestic Abuse departments across the country and liaise with multiple agencies who have a vested interest in domestic abuse cases to ensure support and help is given to victims.

Furthermore, you will deal with telephone enquiries from Domestic abuse victims and assist in providing a high and professional level of customer service and continuity. As well as having to interrogate SYP computer systems to retrieve data and disseminate the results. Provide advice and guidance to district personnel on DA issues where necessary.
