Details of role:

Working as a crucial member of our team and alongside our subject matter experts, you will manage, design, develop and launch online learning programmes that are bright, inventive, interactive, engaging and stimulating. You will manage, monitor and maintain existing courses and contribute to the fresh and modern appearance of our bespoke learning management system.


Role Purpose:

Assist the development and delivery of on-line and immersive learning programmes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Update IT and Audio Visual inventory, fault resolution and management records.
  • Use software programmes such as Adobe Photoshop, Captivate, Premier and Microsoft Office or other similar packages to develop learning materials.
  • Assist in the design and development of learning materials and multimedia content.
  • Operate and maintain dedicated specialist IT and AV equipment and associated software this includes systems maintenance as Hydra is not supported by Information Systems Department.
  • Work and communicate with colleagues, customers and users, building professional relationships.
  • Update and develop both the SYP and Humberside Learning & Development intranet site using Drupal content management software.
  • Develop innovative solution to achieve new ways of developing and delivering learning.
  • Prepare and operate equipment for recording of video/audio, undertaking postproduction editing with creativity and imaginative flair.
  • Provide specialist technical IT/AV advice and providing systems support.
  • To act as a Domain Administrator for both SYP and Humberside NCALT Managed Learning Environment (MLE) and perform general administrative duties for the unit.
  • Assist with the delivery of immersive learning exercises.
  • Assist in the design and production of storyboards, filming schedules, scripts etc needed for the effective development and delivery of online/immersive learning material.

 

Skills and experience:

Essential:

  • Experience of working in a web design/learning design/multimedia role.
  • Strong computer literacy including Adobe products and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility in work practices.
  • Prepared to travel in working hours for creation, delivery, advice and guidance of blended learning.
  • Prepared to work a shift pattern that incorporates some weekend working and evenings to assist in the facilitation of various training courses.
  • Have a keen interest in new technologies.
  • Prepared to work towards a nationally recognised adult teaching qualification e.g. PTLLS/CTLLS.

Desirable:

  • Experience of creating, editing and producing multimedia.
  • Hold a nationally recognised adult teaching qualification e.g. PTLLS/CTLLS.
  • Hold a relevant university degree.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 3 years has been identified for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
