Role: HP – Head of People Services

Department: People Services

Location: Priory Road

Salary: £73,065 - £81,759

Hours: 37 per week (full time)

Contract Type: Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Head of People Services to lead and deliver our People Strategy. You will champion diversity and inclusion, lead organisational health, safety and wellbeing and drive the leadership and learning agendas. This is a challenging and exciting role for someone who is motivated to drive positive change and deliver a modern human resources function.

You must be comfortable working in a 'hands on' leadership role, where you work across all strategic aspects of the People Service Department whilst keeping oversight of operational and tactical service delivery. You will lead the development of highly efficient, professional, and contemporary people services (which includes a range of partnerships and collaborations outside of policing), enabling our people in policing to thrive. With a new strategy and structure for the department, along with a flourishing leadership team, you will have significant scope to enhance our existing ways of working to deliver and influence innovative projects and to shape the culture and behaviours we need to deliver our exciting future force ambitions. The department consists of HR Services, Health & Wellbeing, Workforce Transformation and Learning and Development.

Humberside Police is a modern, forward thinking Police Force, with a keen eye to promote continuous improvement of all front line and support services using creativity, innovation and digitisation in order to better serve the public. You should understand that policing operates at pace and is a rapidly changing and emergency service environment. This is not your average HR role, you will be open-minded and approachable, with energy and the ‘can do’ ability to make things happen.

The applicants should meet all the essential criteria which is evidenced in the attached job description. You should be CIPD qualified or able to evidence relevant equivalent experience. This appointment will be subject to Police pre-employment checks such as vetting which requires you to have been resident in the UK for the past 5 years.

Please send your CV with a covering letter outlining, in no more than 500 words, your suitability for the role to sarah.wilson@humberside.pnn.police.uk by 12 noon on 27th January 2021.

Interviews will take place on 11th February 2021.
